My Perfect Moment today is about the beautiful flowers that line our front yard, welcoming people to our home. In particular, we have some Crimson Butterflies (pictured) that wave in the breeze as though they are dancing to the rhythm of nature.
Anyone who drives up can see how much love has gone into creating our landscaping, but there is also a great story behind it.
My DH took a class two years ago at a local nursery to create a landscaping plan for our home. About six months later, he had some (weed Elm) trees torn out because they were soaking up all of the water, killing our grass.
Next, he had the lawn torn up and the ground leveled. It was quite bare for a while and he kept saying, "Have patience, my dear...it's all part of my plan," and so I did.
This year we (mostly he) have invested time, energy and money to bring his plan to life. It is beautiful! He's added a water feature, three trees and many plants...not to mention that he re-used the cement chunks from our demolished driveway to create planters around the yard. What a great re-use of materials.
As I sat here today looking at the peaceful beauty that surrounds me in my own front yard, I realized that I was in the midst of a Perfect Moment...and I wanted to share it with you.

I love your desciption and photo of the flowers -- it reminds me to tune in to the rhythms of nature.
And your DH has done a wonderful job with this. His words are very wise: "Have patience. It's all part of the plan."
Nice. I love watching nature, even if it is sculpted.
Interesting about the Elm too. I have one I have been meaning to get rid of and now I know why the grass around it is in such bad shape.
